FUN IN THE SUN AT THE GARMIN TRIATHLON DE PARIS

Over 5,500 triathletes and duathletes took part in the Garmin Triathlon de Paris this weekend. Sunlight and camaraderie set the tone for this edition, the first one to be held over two days (Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 June). The event was more open than ever before thanks to the addition of the duathlon in the S and M formats for solo competitors and relay teams.

On Saturday, the thousands of triathletes and duathletes set to tackle the Sprint format in the Garmin Triathlon de Paris basked in the sun in high spirits while waiting for the event to start. The triathletes, who began with 550 m of swimming in the Canal de l'Ourcq, joined the duathletes in the cycling segment through Paris, zooming past iconic sites including Place de la Bastille, the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower and many more. Fabien Colas won the men's triathlon and Paul Mounier took the men's duathlon, while Mathilde Didelot claimed the women's triathlon and Clémence Docoene emerged victorious from the women's duathlon.

The M formats were on the menu of the Garmin Triathlon de Paris today. The thousands of participants started the duathlon and triathlon at 7 am under the radiant sun. Although the entrants were spoilt for choice, with a diverse range of formats and courses, one race was not enough for competitors such as Benoît Regnier, who came in third in the M triathlon this morning after winning the S duathlon yesterday! The event, now spread out over two days for convenience, was twice as fun!
